Integrated Water Treatment for an Aluminum Extrusion Manufacturer

Aug 10, 2026

Producing high-quality aluminum extrusions requires carefully managed water systems throughout the manufacturing process. From supplying high-purity rinse water to treating industrial wastewater and safely storing process chemicals, every part of the operation depends on reliable water treatment.

When an aluminum extrusion manufacturer needed to improve wastewater treatment while supporting its anodizing operations, it partnered with JMark to design an integrated solution tailored to its facility.

The Challenge

The manufacturer needed to remove heavy metals from its industrial wastewater while maintaining a reliable supply of high-purity water for its anodizing process. Rather than addressing one issue at a time, the facility sought a comprehensive solution that would improve wastewater treatment, support production and safely manage bulk process chemicals.

The project required:

  • Reliable removal of heavy metals from industrial wastewater
  • High-purity process water for anodizing line rinse stations
  • Consistent wastewater clarification and solids removal
  • Safe bulk storage for sulfuric acid and caustic soda
  • An integrated system designed to support long-term manufacturing operations

The Solution

JMark engineered a complete water treatment solution designed around the customer's manufacturing process. For the anodizing line, the system includes a 30 GPM reverse osmosis system that produces high-purity process water with conductivity below 10 µS, supporting consistent rinse water quality.

To treat industrial wastewater, we designed a 110 GPM Nickel Hydroxide Precipitation System featuring laminar flow gravity clarification and an 80-cubic-foot plate-and-frame filter press for efficient solids dewatering.

The project also included 6,500-gallon bulk storage systems for sulfuric acid and caustic soda, providing reliable chemical handling as part of the overall process.

Like every JMark project, the solution was engineered to support the customer's specific production requirements rather than relying on a standard, off-the-shelf system.

The Impact

By integrating process water, wastewater treatment and chemical storage into a single engineered solution, the manufacturer gained a reliable system that supports both production quality and environmental compliance.

The completed system helped the manufacturer:

  • Produce high-purity water for anodizing operations
  • Remove heavy metals from industrial wastewater
  • Improve clarification and solids handling
  • Safely manage bulk process chemicals
  • Support reliable, efficient manufacturing operations
