What to Expect When Using a Mobile Water Treatment Unit

In today’s industrial and environmental landscape, water treatment needs can shift quickly. Project timelines, regulatory pressure, or emergency events often create a need for rapid deployment of treatment systems. That’s where mobile water treatment units come in. JMark Systems provides skid-mounted equipment rentals designed to help customers treat water effectively—without the delays or capital costs associated with permanent infrastructure.

If you’re considering renting a system from JMark, here’s a detailed look at what to expect from start to finish.

Defining Your Treatment Requirements

Before equipment can be selected and deployed, the customer must first define their scope of work. This is a critical step and sets the stage for a successful rental experience. You will be responsible for conducting water sampling, confirming your required flow rates, identifying the types of contaminants that need to be removed (such as suspended solids, dissolved metals, or organics), and understanding the specific discharge or reuse standards you must meet.

JMark will provide detailed specifications for each system—such as system dimensions, power requirements, treatment capacities, and connection points—to help you determine whether the equipment is compatible with your site. Customers should use these specs to verify space availability, utility access, and flow compatibility.

While JMark can provide general recommendations for treatment approaches based on similar applications, all final decisions on system selection, site suitability, and regulatory compliance are made by the customer.

Equipment Shipment and Site Setup

Once the rental agreement is finalized, JMark will coordinate shipment of the equipment within the agreed-upon timeframe. Our systems are engineered for mobility and ease of deployment. All rental units are skid-mounted, making them simple to handle with forklifts or cranes.

Upon delivery, the customer is responsible for unloading and placing the unit in its operating location. We will provide detailed layout drawings and setup instructions to guide your team through this process. Customers must also handle all utility connections, including electrical hookups, water inlets/outlets, and discharge lines.

For customers who request it, JMark offers startup support and on-site or virtual operator training. This ensures your personnel are confident in operating the system according to best practices and safety standards.

Operating and Monitoring the System

Once the system is installed and operational, the customer is fully responsible for running and maintaining the unit. This includes monitoring system performance, managing chemical dosing (if applicable), and performing routine tasks such as filter changes, backwashing, media replacement, and system flushing.

Our units are designed for operator-friendly functionality and include instrumentation that allows users to track key parameters like pH, flow rate, turbidity, or conductivity. JMark does not provide full-time operators or ongoing maintenance services. However, we are available for remote technical support throughout the rental period. Our support team can assist with troubleshooting, equipment performance questions, and general system guidance as needed.

Customers should have trained personnel available to oversee daily operations and maintain compliance with any site-specific or regulatory requirements.

Cleaning and Returning the Equipment

When the rental term concludes or the system is no longer needed, the customer must clean and prepare the unit for return. This includes flushing tanks and piping, removing residual chemicals, and returning the system in a clean and functional state. JMark will provide return instructions and cleaning procedures as part of the rental documentation.

Customers are responsible for arranging return transport to the designated JMark facility. Any damage or excessive wear beyond normal operation may result in additional charges, which are outlined in the rental terms.

Flexible Rental Terms and Rent-to-Own Options

JMark understands that not all water treatment needs are short-term. For select customers—especially those with ongoing or multi-phase projects—we may offer rent-to-own options. Under this arrangement, a portion of the rental payments can be credited toward a future purchase of the unit. These options are considered on a case-by-case basis and are generally reserved for our preferred or repeat customers.

JMark’s mobile systems are used in a wide range of industries and scenarios, including:

  • Industrial plant startups and shutdowns
